We all know what the friend zone is (if not - you can read the definition), the question now is how do you avoid it? Luckily, with dating tips for guys, the answer is pretty quick and easy:

Make your intentions known from the start.

That doesn't mean sharing all of your deepest sexual fantasies with her, it means that if you want to date a girl don't waste time.

Call her and ask her out on a date. The importance of communication comes into play now. You must stress the type of date you want - one on one, just you and her.

If you only see her in casual settings or with a group of friends, then that is how she will view you (as a casual acquaintance/friend).

By asking her out on a real date (ideally Friday or Saturday night) and using the word "date" when asking her out, she will know what type of relationship you want with her.

If there is any confusion and she places you within the "zone," it will be a one way ticket out the window for your chances at romance.

In addition, you need to have a firm grasp on what friends do and don't do and abide by those guidelines.

Friends don't kiss when they say goodbye for the night - so you should kiss her. In fact, put it on your "Dating To Do List".

Friends say compliments like "You look so pretty" and "That shirt is really nice" - compliment her more boldly "You're looking very sexy tonight" or "I like how that shirt shows your figure, it's hot."

Friends do help with various everyday activities (moving furniture, painting, being a designated driver) - leave these activities for her friends to complete.

Don't become her "emotional tampon," this may be the most important way to avoid the friend zone.

Refuse to let her vent and unload her problems about ex's, family, or friends on your back.

If your her boyfriend, fine, but if not steer the conversation away from that direction. It is a job for her friends, not you.

Make your own plans and don't ask for advice. Provide her a couple choices when going out, but don't say, "We will do whatever you want" and become submissive.
