Identifying Changes

In relationship dating, for whatever reason, we may come to find that the person we once loved has changed.

There are many reasons for this, but it is often hard to deal with. Should you end your relationship, or try to change your loved one? You may start looking at your relationship in a different light, but don't jump to any conclusions just yet.

Think about why your partner has changed.

Many people believe that as you grow older, get married or have children, you have to change or act a certain way. Perhaps your loved one is under stress, or has a substance abuse problem; there are many factors that can cause your partner to change. The first step in dealing with this however, is identifying the most likely cause.

Is there really a change?

Are you sure you aren't the one who has changed? Perhaps your partner is the same, but your perception of him has changed. Make sure you aren't the one acting strange first; have they always been that way, or have you just recently noticed it?

Sometimes people enter a relationship expecting their partner to change; if this is the case, you really have no right to be upset. You need to be up front and honest with your partner. You can't just keep quiet and expect him to change!

Evaluate Your Relationship Dating Situation

If you or your partner has been under a lot of stress, or lost a job or a loved one, then the change may be a result of those events.

Life can throw a lot at you sometimes, and it's easy to let it get to us. Perhaps your husband has been under a lot of pressure in the office, working on a huge proposal or trying to close that once-in-a-lifetime business deal. Has money been an issue recently? There are so many factors that can affect a person it can be hard to narrow it down to one.

Once you have established that there has in fact been a change, you can begin the process of dealing with and discussing the new development in your relationship dating.
