In this "How-to" we will be discussing the topic of...you guessed it, how to get a girlfriend.

We all have different wants and needs in our lives but at one point or another, we all begin to want something similar: a woman to call our own.

Humans are social beings, capable of loving each other and sharing ourselves with someone. It follows that wanting a significant other in your life is only natural.

But unlike other wants that can be easily satisfied (hunger, thirst, sleep, socializing, etc.), finding the right girl for you (not to mention getting her to date you) is a much more lengthy and complex task.

The first thing that needs discussed whenever the question of "how to get a girlfriend" comes up is the subject of "what do women want?"

Every female is unique, which means in addition to being physically different they also have different personalities, desires, goals, attitudes, and opinions.

So with around 3 billion unique women on earth today, how in the world can we even dream of knowing "what women want"?

Relax. Luckily, the overwhelming majority of females all seek the same set of attributes in men (the difference arises from the fine details of each basic attribute).

These attributes are: physical appearance, personality, confidence level, goals, and financial status.

Below is a pyramid structure illustrating the main attributes that are important to 99% of women today.

The lower parts of the pyramid are considered more significant than the upper levels. This is all calculated by taking into account the immediate importance of the specific attribute as well as the general demand for it. (I.e. your physical appearance is noticed usually before your "goals" are discovered; there is a larger demand for a man with a good personality than there is a demand for a man with money.)

Sound shallow? It's not.

Let's discuss each category and why they are important to you and your question of how to get a girlfriend...

Physical appearance

This is most often your first impression with a girl. Every woman has a physical template of what they want in a boyfriend, within the first 5 seconds of seeing you she will be able to decide whether you are "boyfriend material" or not. What do women want? What women want is an attractive mate. Therefore, if a female finds you physically appealing, she will be more than happy to make your acquaintance, while if she finds you ordinary or "plain" you will have to work harder to "get your foot in the door."

Personality

After seeing you on the outside, the time comes for her to see you "on the inside." Either your personality will be compatible with her own or it won't. She may feel an immediate connection with you that makes you feel like a human magnet. In light of this, you can see why it is relevant to your question of how to get a girlfriend.

Confidence

If you want to know how to get a girlfriend, one thing you can never forget is confidence. More specifically, girls love a confident man.

It dates all the way back to the age of the caveman, when a woman desired the alpha male of the group (the epitome of confidence).

Girls don't want their boyfriend to be insecure or weak. What women want is a confident man whom demonstrates high social status and leadership qualities (i.e. popular).

Goals

You will have a hard time finding a female who's ideal boyfriend is an unemployed couch potato. What do women want? Women want a man with direction and ambition. If you want to find a girlfriend, you need goals.

Money

What women want is money. Well... Instead lets say they want a man that is "financially secure." They aren't likely holding out for a royal prince or even a measly millionaire, but they definitely are not dreaming of a pauper.

Now that you know what women want, how will that knowledge help you find a girlfriend?

Simple.

Improve YOUR attributes. Don't "change" yourself or develop an alter ego. Instead, enhance yourself into being a more desirable man.

Below is a list of enhancements that you can make that will help you find a girlfriend...

Physical:

Get/Stay in shape. (Loss a little weight. Put on some muscle.)
Keep a neat appearance (Style your hair. Trim your nails. Keep your facial hair trimmed or shaved.)
Maintain good hygiene (Whiten your teeth. Brush your teeth. Use deodorant. Bathe often. Wear cologne.)
Dress nicely (Feel free to keep your own style, but dress in clothes that are nice - i.e. there is a big difference from designer jeans with holes and thrift store jeans with holes).

Personality:

Have a sense of humor.
Strive to be approachable and talkative.
Being "cocky" is a good thing; being "arrogant" is not.
Try to stay relatively calm and cool (showing stress/anxiety is a no-no)
Be (or at least appear) carefree towards women. (NEVER let yourself look desperate or admit to being "horrible with girls".)

Confidence:

Know your strengths and your weaknesses (and don't be afraid to share them).
Maintain the mindset that you "may not be the best, but you're pretty damn close to it."
Walk tall with your head up.
Make eye contact.
Smile often.

Goals:

Goals can touch on almost any topic from career goals to fitness goals. The important part is having a plan for yourself.
What are your passions?
Where do you want to be next year?
How about in 5 years?
How will you reach your goals?
Know what you want from a woman.
Know what you want from life.

Financial Security:

There isn't too much you can do to improve this in an immediate sense, but try to make sure that you always have enough money for the "small things" in life - such as going on a little date, keeping food in the kitchen, maintaining a wardrobe that isn't filled with old/damaged clothes. You won't ever have to say, "Hello. My name is Joe and I have 20 dollars in my wallet. Do you want to go on a date sometime?" But a female will know if you are hard pressed for cash or not - if you want to know how to get a girlfriend, try to keep a little bit in the old "date fund."

If you take the above advice into consideration, absorb it, and make it happen - you will find that your success with women will improve dramatically. You won't be asking how to get a girlfriend anymore, but instead seeking girlfriend tips and asking what are some fun dates to take her on!

It is very important to remember though, you can't expect your future girlfriend to find you...

You need to get out there and meet as many different females as possible... You need to find her!
